Total waste of money. If you want to read about someone galavanting around the globe and her experiences then this could be for you. Offers zero practical ways or guidance on how to actually stop being mean and self critical to yourself.

I love the way Melody uses her travels to weave the story of her journey. I always feel as though I’m with her, and I always come away, wiser, and stronger.

Love anything this wonderful lady writes. Have really gotten into her books the last few years and then she has changed my life.

I went into reading this book how not to be mean to myself I thought it reached my expectations I was amazed by the depths of my heart in the light of my soul

This book is different than many of Melodie's titles. Rather than doling out wisdom in neat daily parcels, she shares insight in the form of story. Many cultures use storytelling as a means of sharing their experience, strength, and hope. Her tales of airport customs experiences where she must relate what happened back at the various places she visited are a perfect backdrop for her messages.

This is one of my favorite books of hers.

Christine Ha is amazing and one of my chef favorites... I followed her through the whole season of MasterChef and called her win when I first saw her come out to greet chef Ramsay, Joe, and Graham! Her recipes are amazing and I haven't tried all of them yet but let me tell you I am, not a huge fan of fish or seafood at all, and I am willing to eat her recipes!I got an amazing deal on a new copy of this cookbook and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it! If you do not know much about Christine Ha, she is blind, and competed on a show called MasterChef and won the whole thing! She won! And besides being an AMAZING cook, she is a huge inspiration for everyone!

I have purchased numerous cookbooks just to end up giving them away because of my disappointment in the contents. Christine Ha's "Recipes from My Home Kitchen" is a keeper! Not only are her recipes uncomplicated and appetizing, her written narrative provides a wonderful context in which I understand her culinary perspective. I am a southern cook who is a fan of Asian cuisine so this book truly relates to my interests. This is remarkable book by an equally remarkable woman.

This is a very nice cookbook with different and interesting recipes. None of them take a long list of exotic ingredients and with each one Christine has given us a little of her personal history of the dish. You get a strong flavor of her perky personality and determination to do what she loves despite her blindness. I find Christine Ha to be an inspirational person and if you think so to, you will probably really enjoy this book. If you are expecting all Asian cuisine you will be dissapointed as it is a blend of recipes both Asian and western. I have only made one recipe from this book, but it did come out fantastic and I'm anxious to buy the ingredients to try some of the others. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and just wish Christine Ha the best of luck in everything.

Christine Ha really makes this cookbook easy to follow. First Chicken Curry recipe I tried....I don't think I've tasted a better version even in NYC Vietnamese restaurant. She added Italian dishes I haven't tried yet, but...I highly recommend. It's nice to cook from a book author that you actually saw win Masterchef. Unique! She is a class act. Glad to support her and taste my way through her kitchen!

I have waited to get this book for years. I promised myself that I would get this book when I had a kitchen to cook in, and now that I have gotten that far this book filled all of my expectations. Along with heartwarming and a couple of sad stories from Mrs. Ha, we find American and Asian recipes for you to try in your home. So far every one has turned out great for me.

She is one of my favorite cooks, to be blind and able to cook this well is not a learned trait, but a gift. Her food is delicious if you are into that type of food and of course not allergic to the ingredients. However cooking is amazing because you can change the recipe and make it unique to yourself as well as still delicious.

After reading theology book after theology book for a few months in preparation for the Theology in Ministry class, I was excited to read a light book about mountain climbing. It has been a dream of mine to climb this mountain. People call this a "everyman Everest." This is because you can climb it with no technical skills. Not that climbing this peak is easy, any time you go up to over 19,000 feet, it is going to cause some pain. People struggle climbing up to 14,000 feet, so adding 5000 more feet is going to hurt. The author does an excellent job of making this book fun. It was exciting to hear about his adventures. He talks about the history of the peak, the place of African, the people of the land, and some about his heart. He seemed to really connect with this culture. You noticed yourself in reading this book, rooting for the guy. He was just a average joe, but a good guy. You seem to like him in the book, not because he is great, but because he is just a guy who tries to climb this huge peak. It was a excellent adventure book and just what I needed after a couple months of theology. I needed to know that there was still fresh air up high.

I plan to climb Kilimanjaro in a few weeks so I bought this book in order to get a better idea of what I'm facing - I'm a book nerd so online articles just weren't enough for me. This book was well written, in my opinion. I think the author does a great job of telling his story, which imparting information about what to expect for this type of climb, what some of the pitfalls could be, and therefore how to prepare for a better chance at success. I enjoyed it immensely.

Have you ever been so engrossed in a book that its characters and scenes start showing up in your dreams? No? Me neither. That is, until I read Daniel Dorr's Kissing Kilimanjaro.I was nauseous from altitude sickness, exhausted from four days of hiking, and shivering from sub-zero cold. But the biggest battle I'd been fighting all day was a mental one. `Don't quit!' I told myself. `You can do this! Just a little bit farther.' But just as I thought I was winning the mental battle, I started losing the physical one. I collapsed in the snow, unable to move. Is this really how it's supposed to end? But I'm so close! I fight to stand, but can only manage to shake uncontrollably. The bitter disappointment felt so real.According to my wife, I was thrashing around in bed before I woke in a cold sweat. Realizing I had been dreaming, I looked over at my bedside table to see my copy of Kissing Kilimanjaro. I'd made the mistake of not finishing the book before going to sleep. A mistake I wouldn't make again.Am I interested in climbing a mountain like Kilimanjaro in real life? No need. I've already been there, and done that.

I re-read some parts of the climb many times as I was going through those parts myself. I even made mental notes in my head as I passed some milestones mentioned in the book and it helped me with my motivation through the summit.I feel bad for the author's wife whom he "praised" for I guess putting up with him as he constantly left her behind because her pace was not fast enough for him. He also had some strong words for other women just because they were in better shape and passed him on the trail. Overall though the book is informative and entertaining and I spent several evenings with it in my tent on the way to the summit.

Climbing Kilimenjaro is on my bucket list after a friend suggested the climb over a few beers recently. Found this book on kindle/amazon and seemed like a good start in acquiring more knowledge about climbing this African icon. The author did a great job recording his own experiences to the mountain. Like him, I'm not a mountain climber, but have become mesmerized with the lure of this climb. Started reading the book late one evening and couldn't put it down until I had finished reading it. Daniel kept my interest peaked with his down to earth account of his (and Lisa's) journey to Africa. But what was the deal with the cold toast?

I read this book before I climbed Kilimanjaro. It was helpful in helping me prepare and realizing not everyone makes it to the top. After summiting the mountain, I realized how right he was. After our summit, I re-read the book on the plane home--and enjoyed it that much more because of my experiences on the mountain.

For anyone interested in serious hiking and, of course, anyone interested in climbing Kili this is a great read. the author's style brings the mountain and the whole experience down to a very human narrative, making you feel that, with enough preparation, you too can undertake a similar adventure. I feel that I now have a good understanding of what to expect both from the mountain and the people of Tanzania.

This is a great book and was a wonderful preview to my own trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this series of true crime cases The majority of these stories are new to me but I am glad they were included in here so I can get a better understanding of what goes on in the world today when men snap and commit their murderous ways. Les and Tristan McDonald are brilliant in their writing style. High marks for these gentlemen.

This quick read true crime anthology is by the author's of the "Hell Hath no Fury..." series that deals with all female killers. This book is the flip side and deals with all sorts of murderous men. I had only read about Lake/Ng before so the stories were all unique to me. There are great color pics throughout and the writing is good. I joined their Facebook page and am ready to embark on the next book in this series.

I like how the author gets to the meat of the story and doesn’t spend time with too much detail. I think that allows for a look into the mind of a depraved individual while also protecting the victims and their families.

The photos bring each crime to life.

I actually really love the bullet format of this book. The author uses several symbols instead of plain bullet points to help indicate to the reader which items are more important. The book contains many helpful, concise charts. I only gave four out of five stars because I have two complaints. First, the CD is not included, but I am uncertain whether this is because I purchased mine used, or if it is because it is always sold separately. There is a phone number provided near the beginning of the book to order a CD. My second grievance is this book only covers breeding to pregnancy diagnosis, there is nothing about parturition or post-foaling.

I ordered this book on Amazon and it is a wonderful book, but it does not come with the CDrom that it references so much in the book. When you order this book make sure that it includes the CD rom as it is about impossible to get the CDrom separate. The book is a great book, but what a ripoff to not include the cdrom

This is the best, most complete and easy to understand book! Buy it!

This book does have useful information, but the way it is formatted makes it difficult to understand. The book does not flow, the information is written through a series of bullet points. There are chapters, so you can go to the subject you want to learn, but within the chapter the information is not organized in a typical "textbook-like" way. Maybe if it wasn't such an in depth topic some bullet points would be beneficial, but hundreds of bullet points just make it harder to learn. Some people may prefer the way the book is written, I find it more of a hinderance then a help. Although it is written more for a vet than a student.
