I have to say that this is probably the all-round best anthology I have read in a long time.My favorite novella is no surprise since I am a big Shelby Nichol's fan. Colleen Helme's story, "Behind Blue Eyes" alone novella was worth the cost of the book but that is true of most of the stories and novellas in the collection. I don't know how she does it, but Ms. Helme manages to bring more to a novella than some authors bring to a whole book. Without bogging down the plot, the author provides enough background for a reader new to the series to enjoy it almost as much as those of us who have read the books over and over. Shelby Nichols Consulting is off to a great start.The intensity on most of the collection is pretty high but Ms. Anxiety here was able to get through the whole set in one day.

If you're a Leslie Wolfe fan you'll want a copy of " Drop Dead Crime" in your collection. If you're not familiar with the other authors, this book is a great introduction. It’s a well-crafted collection of crime novellas that had me engaged from the first page to the last.The stories had every element good stories should have; intriguing plots, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well-illustrated scenes that make you feel like you are right there in the stories, and that’s something I really look for in a good book. The stories flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the authors displayed exceptional ability when it came to storytelling.I’ll be looking forward to reading more from these authors the future. Highly recommended and a well- deserved five stars.

My favorite stories of the five were Leslie Wolfe and Lisa Regan. Tess Winnett is a fierce FBI agent that never quits until the case is solved. This was a short version of her FBI exploits. She takes over a case from another agent while being a decoy to catch a serial killer.Lisa Regan story is about an abuse woman who rear ends Jocelyn and Anita, who are PI's. She tries to leave the scene, but their bumpers are locked together. She then runs and jumps off a bridge into the water. A surprise ending.The other authors Colleen Helme, Amy Vansant and Julie Smith also have good stories in this collection.A great deal to get all these authors in one novel.
I have only read Colleen Helme's book, it was great. I love Shelby.
I recommend this anthology fully. I bought it because I am a fan of Julie Smith’s mysteries featuring Skip Landon on New Orleans. I’ve found a couple of other authors to be on the lookout for. I thoroughly enjoyed 3/4 of the stories, and still liked the one I didn’t love.
I really enjoyed all of the stories but of course my fav was Colleen Helme with her "Shelby" story. The other stories were by some of the authors I have already read and enjoyed. I now have some new series to dive into. I am so pleased that I got this and now have so many new books to look forward too. Judy A
